Berners-Lee advocates free Web for all

Tim Berners-Lee is advocating free Web for all. I'm not sure how
economical that is. After all, free dialup ISPs never worked out.

It does somewhat mirror Microsoft's original mission though of a
computer on every desktop.

I think he's talking more about free government supplied (or
government subsidized) Internet, like the current WiMax/LTE proposals
before the FCC, than yesteryear's free (private, ad-supported) dialup
ISPs.
