Hello group,

I wanted to let you know I've taken action to remove and report the
recent spam to the ROSCo group, and have made a moderation change to
make it less likely spam will get through in the future.

I'm currently working on a computer hardware re-use and recycling
program which has some overlap with ROSCo since we will be installing
Linux on some of the re-usable hardware.

I'll post a more formal message about that once the other group gets
more organized.

Mark

Jason,

Thanks for the offer. The model we are using is fairly simple. What I
think could work well is to help you start an independent program at
your location, since our space and resources have a limit to how much we
can handle anyway.

The primary thing needed is a little space to store computers to be
recycled or re-used, in between pick-ups from a third-party recycler.
Besides a little start-up cost for basic supplies, just a little
organization and logistics are needed, and I can share what we are doing
in those regards, including some related documents we've made.

One thing that we hope to work on as part this is to build a little
thin-client demo lab using Edubuntu. That might interest your group as
well and could be done mostly with computers that people would be
getting rid of.

For more about thin clients, see: http://www.ltsp.org/
