Tools of ROS to increase the communication performance

Hello,

I'm quite new with ROS. As far as I know there are UDPROS, TCPROS and rosserial libraries in ROS. But I don't know whether there is any difference using socket in Python.

Actually, I'm searching for a communication channel for remote controlling which will be used in real-time operation. Is it possible to modify those protocols regarding to the time-stamps of packets.
