So has anyone ever done any research into any upgraded/stronger axles? Or at least the bearings? I spoke to my mechanic when I was getting mine replaced and he tried asking around. Seems like a few places would take a look at the OEM one and design oneoffs but they all quoted a few thousand each side.
The 034 Motorsports B5 axles are from The Driveshaft Shop. Here is a link to the page where the description is almost identical. When I called The Driveshaft Shop, they said that they just reuse the CV joints and put in a Chromalloy shaft. I know Chromalloy is expensive but damn that means they are charging $550 for each shaft plus a few minutes of greasy labor.
Earlier in the week I contacted Raxles to see if they could make a stronger axle for these cars. They got back to me yesterday and told me no. The guy blamed the tri-pod inner CV joint design as being weaker than the older Porsche style joints for the B5 S4s.
Yeah jhm put eighty billion launches on that in house b6 with 400+ wtq on the nitrous kit and of course supercharger stage 1 and 2 (stage 2 is wow). This is a typical night at the old Lathrop business Park lol.
This product is a drop-in replacement for the small factory air tank, designed to enhance the efficiency of airing out the car's suspension using Dumpbox, VCDS, and other modules. The original factory tank is insufficient for supporting suspension raising, often necessitating the compressor's activation. This upgraded tank reduces the strain on the factory compressor by providing ample stored air capacity to lift the car independently, without the need for compressor assistance. Additionally, the increased capacity allows the car to air up in about half the usual time.
Installation is straightforward: simply remove the existing factory tank, remove the factory airline for the tank, and connect it to the new tank, with the new supplied line. The tank includes a machined mount for easy attachment to the battery tie-down.
This setup is compatible with aftermarket air suspension kits. However, it addresses a common issue where tanks provided with other kits do not fit in the spare tire location for cars with factory Bang & Olufsen systems or models like A7/S7/RS7 due to the factory subwoofers placement. Our tank's design is slim enough to fit in the well alongside the factory subwoofer without its removal, while still offering a 3-gallon capacity.
If you have the drop box this is a must, the TGK tank fit extremely well in my 2013 s6 and was a quick and easy upgrade to my factory system. The car airs up faster than before and the tank looks great.
Tank was super easy to install and bolted up exactly with stock location. Very simple addition to the air system and give the peace of mind that I have enough air to lift up the car in one go, rather waiting on the compressor to lift the rear, then the front as it takes its sweet time. Excellent product, and service from TGK.

A bit of the back story, our family garage consists of 3 cars, a B8.5 Audi A4, a Polo 1.5 TDI and a Tata Tiago AMT. The Polo and the Tiago have been recent acquisitions, the former pre worshipped and the latter bought new. The Polo is solely used by me as a daily project and is currently running a stage 2 setup (thread in the works).
Coming to the point, we got the Scuba Blue A4 new in 2016 and there's no denying the fact that it's still a gem of a car. The 2.0 TDI mated to the CR177 turbo brings a smile to the face every time you put the pedal to the metal. The CVT tranny is the only limiting factor in my opinion.
But leaving the performance aside, the car has started to show its age. It's been a reliable workhorse nearing 100k KM's and I feel an update is due. The car is used by my father for mostly highway runs and some city runs as well. And he's rarely chauffeured in it as he loves driving (Like father like son). So now the question is, what next?
I had my eyes on a Porsche Macan S diesel (pre worshipped) or an R4, but him having driven sedans all his life (for context, he owned an MK1 Octy VRS for 10 years before we got the A4), seems to be very against owning a Crossover or an SUV. He clearly stated, "Let's get a sedan itself, I don't want a big car". We tried the BMW route as well, but he doesn't really seem to be a fan of the brand, not sure why. We also test drove the new C220 D, but with the absurd prices they are quoting for a C class, seems really out of budget.
So yes, I am open to any and all suggestions. Preferably something post 2019-2020, a sedan that could be a sensible upgrade from an A4, and something that won't take away the pure pleasure of driving the 2.0 TDI. Maybe too much to ask for but let's see shall we?

The Weistec EA839 2.9T W.3 Turbo Upgrade unlocks the true potential of the 2.9L Twin Turbo engine. Power gains are substantial, especially in the top end.
The factory turbocharges are disassembled and fully inspected. The compressor cover and center cartridge are then machined to accept our 5-axis CNC machined larger impeller wheel. Externally, no changes are made to maintain a completely stock appearance. The new impeller wheel supports greater power levels than the factory unit with little to no sacrifice in spool and response. The turbochargers are then reassembled with new seals and fully balanced for smooth operation and OEM service life. All the original oil and coolant lines bolt right up making for a simple install.
For maximum results, the combination of our other Weistec Performance Products is recommended.
If it was not for the Audi RS Q8, the SQ8 would be the crowning SUV champion of the Audi fleet. But thanks to ABT Sportsline the 2023 Audi SQ8 can rival the bigger RS brother in performance and looks.
From the factory the 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that is powering the SQ8 is already providing a respectable 500 HP and 568 lb-ft of torque. But with the ABT Engine Control installed an exceptional gain of up to 640 hp and 626 lb-ft of torque* (based on 93 octane) can be achieved. With that the SQ8 catches up to the 2023 Q8 and 2023 RS Q8 which already received their share of extra power from ABT Sportsline.
The high-quality interior of the Audi SQ8 is completed by ABT carbon fiber accents like a shift knob cover or carbon fiber coated dashboard covers and seat panels. All available ABT upgrades for the Audi Q8, SQ8 and RS Q8 can be checked out on the ABT online configurator or in the dedicated North American price lists here. www.abt-america.com/prices-and-info/
*The engine performance data is in accordance with the stipulations of EWG/80/1269. The process and dynamometer manufacturer have been certified and authorized by the vehicle manufacturer. Power increase based on 93 octane fuel.
You should contact Autobulbsdirect to discuss your options. They are usually very helpful. Ask them if they will agree a refund if your beam pattern is no good (reflectors often give too much scatter with a distributed light source - projectors are usually ok).
