I'm trying to remove unwanted apps/features from our servers. We have production servers running ASP.Net MVC websites, but we don't and never had any silverlight applications. The server has chrome and SSMS installed. So is it ok to uninstall Microsoft Silverlight from production servers (since it's deprecated) ?

I went to -in/windows-10/about in both browsers. In Chrome I could see the content on the webpage perfectly. In Firefox it asked me to install Microsoft Silverlight. I'm surprised that on Chrome it didn't ask me to install Silverlight.
From what I gather, pipelight runs silverlight using wine in the background somehow but this not only works, it works better than silverlight does in Windows and installs as a plugin to your linux browser (not a wine workaround). Tested on netflix and the timewarner cable tv app.
I have the IE 11 desktop app on my computer already, and I installed Silverlight v5; however, when I go to login, a new, blank tab opens. It is clear that Silverlight is supposed to be loading, but it is not. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Silverlight, and I have restarted my machine. I have also checked my security settings and tried turning the firewall on and off. Nothing.
Are you using an institutional / corporate machine? In that case, I'd check with your IT people as to whether there are any web / internet security measures in place which would prevent the running of add-ons like Silverlight. I'd also check that it wasn't blocked by your anti-virus software.
You will also need to check the Silverlight add-on is enabled within Internet Explorer (or Mozilla Firefox). It sounds like you have checked the latter, and there are other posts on the forum regarding Firefox.
Have you tried opening EPPI Reviewer in Firefox ESR, rather than Internet Explorer?
(Note that you need Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR), rather than standard Firefox. It is available from -US/firefox/organizations/all/.)
(Once installed, you will still need to install and allow the Silverlight add-on, but sounds like you have had that aspect of things checked. You can confirm Silverlight is installed via The page should tell you the current version installed.)
The only other thing I can think of that may be causing such issues is your antivirus software not letting you run things correctly. Is it possible for you to "suspend" your antivirus software, and then try the EPPI website again?
I am using MAC and I have installed the Microsoft silverlight but nothing happens. I've restarted Safari, restarted my laptop and yet whenever I try to log in to the reviewer it takes me back to the Silverlight page asking me to download it again.
I installed Mozilla Firefox and the same issue is occurring. I really need to do a rigorous review on a topic, I have to compare the literature across various countries and analyse the data for a report.
NOTE - you can install two versions of Firefox, so you can install and run the newest standard version of Firefox from -GB/firefox/new/ whilst also installing and having available the legacy ESR release. (Unless you create multiple profiles, you will find favourites and histories shared between the two programs, though... We are currently creating a document on running multiple Firefox profiles, which I will send on to you as soon as it is available. However, in the meantime, I'd recommend backing up any existing Firefox favourites and the like before installing the legacy ESR version.
As mentioned, we should shortly have new videos and documents available online, covering the recent browser changes. We are also in the process of writing a new version of EPPI Reviewer that will work across all browsers and devices without the need for add-ons, meaning you will be able to use EPPI Reviewer on tablets, smartphones and computers.
