We would like to thank you for your continued prayers for our dear son Joshua. This coming Wednesday, January 23, at 9:30 a.m., Joshua will have his 3 month routine PET/CT scan at ARA Midtown in Austin, TX. We humbly ask for your most fervent prayers as we
prepare for this exam. His last scan revealed that he had activity in his lymph nodes; however, the tumor board decided not to begin chemotherapy (Vinblastine) and steroid treatment (Prednisone) at that time. This decision was made because they were uncertain
if this activity was actually the cancer metastasizing or healing. Given the uncertainty, they chose to delay treatment and strongly felt that they would not lose any window of opportunity to treat Joshua’s cancer.
As this long awaited scan approaches, please pray that my husband Martin, myself, and our children, especially Joshua, are spiritually prepared to accept the Lord’s will. Also, please pray we have the necessary strength and courage for the journey that awaits
us. Because of each one of you, your love, and prayers, we have been able to bear this cross.
After Joshua’s oncologist, Dr. Raven Cooksey, receives the report, we will know whether or not Joshua needs to begin chemotherapy. Joshua’s scans always heighten our anxiety so please pray Our Lord Jesus Christ and Blessed Mother Mary envelop us with peace,
faith, and hope. Once we have information about Joshua’s results, we will share them with you. Again, thank you for remembering our family in your prayers. We continue to pray for you, as well. Jesus, we trust in you.
