Dear Family and Friends,
Today Joshua had a wonderful day. He spent some time out of his room enjoying time with many friends that came to visit him. In addition, he enjoyed a piano, cello, violin concert that was held for the children in the chapel at Dell. The musicians accompanied
an opera singer that had such an angelic voice. The music was so beautiful. It truly uplifted our spirits and gave us hope as we reflected on the Blessed Sacrament.
The pathology reports indicated that Joshua has LCH. We give thanks to God that it wasn’t sarcoma. This coming Wednesday his oncology team will meet to determine whether or not he only needs follow-up evaluations or chemotherapy. On October 30th, at 11:00,
we are scheduled to meet with the oncologist, neurosurgeon, and plastic surgeon to discuss the treatment plan for Joshua.
Presently, we are certain that Joshua will be under the care of his oncologist for 2-5 years. We also know that he will eventually return to Dell for an operation to reconstruct the part of his skull that was eaten away by the cancer. This procedure will possibly
involve the removal of some of his rib bone to reconstruct his skull. We still have a long road ahead of us, but we will continue to trust in Jesus’ plan for our dear son Joshua.
Lastly, we are ever so grateful for all of you. You have been our Simon and helped our family to carry this heavy cross. May our heavenly Father’s will be done.
