Dearest Family and Friends,
First and foremost, we give thanks to Our Heavenly Father for bringing our dear son Joshua back to us. Secondly, we thank God for everyone who offered Masses, prayers, and for all the children and parents who sat hours with us in the waiting room. In addition,
we thank those who have shared their time, talent, and treasure with our family. We are extremely grateful for you and to you. All that you did for our sweet Joshua gave us the strength we needed to help him carry his cross.
Joshua’s surgery went well and he is in ICU at Dell Children’s Hospital. Marty and I will remain in the hospital with Joshua throughout his stay. Dr. Kelley made the decision in the operation room not to shave Joshua’s head. When Joshua opened his eyes,
he didn’t even realize he still had hair. Although he has hair, he does have 2 large zigzag cuts in his head. When I first saw him, I couldn’t believe how beautiful he looked. His face didn’t even swell as they thought it would, but he does have the drainage
tubes. Presently, he appears to be recovering well. Thank you, Jesus.
Lastly, I thank God for Joshua’s entire medical team and Dell Children’s Hospital staff. Their utmost priority on Joshua’s treatment plan was to ensure that his brown scapular remained on his body throughout the entire operation. And, it did! Everyone that
encountered Joshua knew about the importance of his brown scapular. What a blessing!
We humbly ask that you continue praying for Joshua’s recovery and our family. Jesus, we trust in you.
Much love and prayers,
Rose Escalona
