Before the event, Kerr hosted a talk in conversation with Jenny B. Fine, Executive Editor, Beauty, at WWD and Beauty Inc, where she discussed her founding journey, how her mother's cancer diagnosis led to founding KORA Organics in 2009, as well as the challenges and rewards of self-funding and building a global brand. KORA Organics was one of the first celebrity skincare brands in this most recent celebrity skincare brand boom, and today, Kerr still owns 95% of her brand.

The panel was moderated by Vanity Fair Contributing Editor Leah Faye Cooper and featured Dr. Muneeb Shah (global educator and content creator), Olivia Culpo (model and influencer), Bobby Berk (TV host and entrepreneur), and Felicia Walker (skincare and beauty expert). Panelists discussed how being transparent about filters, products, and procedures can help create an open dialogue between patients and their practitioners, which results in better outcomes and helps destigmatize plastic surgery as a whole.

You can use an emulsion and a cream on top in the same routine if your skin is feeling particularly parched. Or you could use the emulsion during the day and apply the cream at night. Or just stick to one. Spoiler: The emulsion is already quite hydrating, enough for both day and night!

Not that the new look looks bad. It still has a stunning bottle design that draws inspiration from antique ceramic vases, and its appearance certainly reflects that influence even more so now. Some of the products, especially the Ginseng Renewing-line look drop-dead gorgeous and very luxurious! Not to mention the new Ultimate S-line where the packaging looks like home decor.

The serum has a consistency similar to a watery essence. It sinks in quickly into the skin. The moisturizing effect is comparable to that of a toner. In other words, if you have normal to dry skin, you will perhaps want to add another layer of hydration in the form of the Comfort Balancing Water or a hydrating serum. I have been applying it onto a damp face first thing after cleansing as recommended.

I also do agree with what I read from another reviewer that you need to apply the full recommended 2 pumps. Although 1 pump is enough for my small face frame, the hydration efficacy is noticeably reduced as it sinks in so fast.

As a Hanbang skincare product, the First Activating Serum has a lot going for it. In addition to the traditional Korean medicinal extracts, the new formula now also has some more contemporary ingredients. With its inclusion of ethyl ascorbic acid (a newer and more stable form of vitamin C), it doubles as your vitamin C serum. I have observed subtle brightening effects, contributing to a more even skin tone with continued use. But perhaps a more notable ingredient is the ginseng extract (which is the new addition in the latest iteration). It is supposed to strengthen the skin barrier while addressing pre-mature visible signs of aging.

Something to also have in mind is that the formula constantly changes. And while the benefits will stay mostly the same, this review will become irrelevant in a year or two. For instance, in earlier iterations, the First Care serum contained silicones which would affect its consistency and feeling on the skin.

The kit I wanted to get from Sephora MY had the Ginseng Renewing cream but they did not have a sample of it in stock, so instead I was handed four sample sachets of the serum. Considering that the emulsion works as a moisturizer I was happy to have a complete full routine.

This tonic has been a godsend for my skin. It keeps my skin clear and hydrated when I'm in a hurry, or prepping my skin for facial exercises. (They say do them with a clean face and before you apply any skincare, but that's a whole twenty minutes where my skin would have to feel tight and dry!) It's also perfect for when I'm too exhausted to do any self-care before falling down for a nap, and just a quick mist keeps my face fresh.

i absolutely love this mist. the smell is so refreshing and calming and i definitely notice a difference in my skin if i forget to use it. just a quick spray, pat into skin, and continue on with my skincare routine! i honestly wish this scent came in a perfume or something i could wear all day long because i am completely obsessed with it. i bought the large size and i will definitely be buying the smaller size for travel as well because i cannot live without this product.
