Hi All,

Maybe I'm just doing something right but I can't seem to get the myRIO to be a client to a ROS master. Note that the myRIO is connected to the computer running the ROS master over WiFi. I tried loading the client example onto the myRIO and set the IP of the master to match the default (192.168.1.110:11311) but no dice. I can make a windows machine with labview work with ROS just fine, but I need the myRIO to talk to ROS wirelessly so I can put it on a robot. Is that doable?

If not I may just start sending data over udp and write a client on the ROS side.

Best,

Jari

Hi Jari,

We have been able to run the myRIO as a master over WIFI and are running some tests to make sure it  still works. Have you tried disconnecting the myRIO from the computer and solely using wifi? Your description above makes it sounds like your myRIO is still tethered to your computer while you're trying to communicate with it over wifi, which could be causing some issues in assigning the IP address.

Additionally, are your computer and myRIO on the same network? If they aren't, you won't be able to communicate. And do you know the address of the myRIO? You will need to know that in order to type it into the box when prompted by the master (you don't need to use the default). You can also use the hostname to communicate.
