Hello. Help.

My name is Nabil, based in Canada. I am working on an e-commerce app, a food ordering app more specifically. I am trying to implement an order/cart system. I came across this ror_ecommerce repository through a stackexchange post. It appears to be exactly what I'm trying to implement. My background is in Engineering. Though I have some experience in programming (mostly python), I am a newbie in web (app) development and Ruby on Rails. 

 

I downloaded the repository locally onto my computer. Since l am using Ruby 3.1.2 I had to resolve a lot of dependency issues for the gems. I believe I was able to do that successfully, to the point where I am able to start the server. Now I am not able to access any of the routes. For example, when trying to access the homepage/index through (localhost:3000), I get an error stating "undefined method `validate_email_field' for User:Class."

I know that it's a very old repository and many things may have changed since then, in terms of best practices and deprecated methods. However, I'm still in the learning phase, I'm only trying to recreate a minimal, functional app. A simple app which will serve as a proof of concept. I'm hoping you could help me make sense of it.
