That is one off the most amazing trailer, i've ever seen . the most off scene is action, i am convince the most of stuff is real & not CGI, like even a stuff when he was on top of a car and car spinning around and he leaves next car, that look damn real. it looked like a jet. it's was very much like jacky chain movies action. and in a scene he is hanging in a car and it was dragging in water, and also in a shot he was going in a car from front mirror and pushes a guy out while he keeps driving. He look like a super hero. this movie give you a fucking hard on. Is it enough, what you except next..?
This is the most craziest action i have seen. Everybody should see it, can't ignore this. Not even take away from the action but that also not forgotten cinematography. the opening scene, look beautiful. Not excepted from a Bollywood movie.
when i saw it first time. i can't believe. But it is real. Everyone hates shaking shoot in a movie. but in this movie trailer that technique is used but it will not irritate you. You can judge it. it can happen. And also in a scene when he put knife on the neck of a girl camera moving not shaking, it give a better effect in that scene.
Some time when he is moving down from mountain, camera also moving in same direction in a same way. it look like a magical shot. i can't believe it. we have only seen such type of shots in Hollywood movies.
Calgary chosen as filming location for major Bollywood movie from Ajay DevgnBollywood star Ajay Devgn is set to direct himself in new movie Shivaay that will film partly on location near Calgary in Canada. The Alberta city got a profile boost last year hosting the highly-acclaimed TV drama Fargo with Martin Freeman, which starts filming a new series shortly.
Shivaay will also shoot partly in Poland, an increasingly popular filming location for Indian movies. Bollywood productions are particularly active in searching for exotic filming locations around the world and are heavily courted due to their huge audiences and enormous film tourism potential.
But ADHM is getting praised for a lot of things, a solid cast, good music and most of all Kjo stepping out of his comfort zone and making the most intimate honest film ever. Now i have a lot of issues with the film which i had commented about on that thread, but still l it does look like a superior product overall
On the other hand, Shivaay is mounted on a scale rarely seen in Hindi cinema. The action set-pieces are staged phenomenally, And as an actor Ajay is really good . but you minus Ajay and action scenes , there is hardly much to recommend in the film. the supporting cast, the story , screenplay are all straight out of Bmovies . to top it, the length is intolerable . Apart from the action scenes, Ajay fails spectacularly as a director.so on the whole it does give off the vibes of an inferior product.
Now i wont deny that a section of media is led by their political beliefs and skews the news in that direction, but i just want to put things in perspective and say that thats not the only reason why critical evaluation has been so unbalanced for the Diwali releases.
Agreed that the plot is wafer thin and the screenplay is overlong and editing is shoddy, yet this is worth a watch for every Hindi cinema action movie lover. For the rest, they might just give it a miss.
But the problem here is that Ajay has an A list vision for his film,Its really epic .the scale at which it is mounted , the amount of subject matter he wants to cover, the running time of the film. here all point towards that.
P.S.I hear that after a poor opening, both shivaay and ADHM has picked up at the BO on monday and perhaps 100 cr + collections will not be impossible to achieve But dunno whether it will be enough for shivaaay which is an expensive picture.so diwali wasnt such a disaster as everyone feared..Going by the opening weekend collections, i imagined that a lot more production houses will be closing down in bollywood by the end of the year.
Do you not know that Ajay Devgn has numerically altered his name ? It is because of pseudo fans like you who send negative electromagnetic vibes towards his box office collection each time they misspell his name that his films suffer.
Rahul: Hats off to you. ? When you create so much confusion over your intent, you know you have succeeded. Some nice old school internet trolling will help get the temperature down in the bizarre times that we live in.
We hear of certain heroines (Asin, e.g.) who put their foot down and say that they will dub for themselves. But why does such a scenario even exist? Why is the default state for heroines to not (expected to) dub for themselves?
Amitabh Bachchan movie classifications from 1973-92 adjusted for present day (data collated from Trade Guide scans and BOI archives referencing Film Information. Thanks to Marcus, Munna and Saket) :
Overall only less than 10 odd films of his were flops at box office from his debut till 1994 as even the films which initially flopped in his earlier innings till 1973 later on recovered their cost & even made profits in their reruns post 1973. The films namely Faraar, Alaap, Jadugar, Main Azaad Hoon, Ajooba & Indrajeet were flops in real sense his career till 1994.
The popular movie magazine Filmfare had declared Sanjay Dutt as Numero Uno-1993 with Anil Kapoor, Sunny Deol etc. among the top ten based on the opinion of the top distributors, exhibitors and film pundits of the time; But all these experts were unanimous that if there was any star who was at the top slot it was still Bachchan who had announced temporary sabbatical from the movies. According these movie business watchers, Bachchan was the only star who could sell a movie just on his name, the others were successful yes but their success was not to their sole credit. The other popular magazine named Movie put Bachchan at no.1 spot right up to 1997 based on the poles it used to conduct.
He had everything: the talent, the towering personality, the voice, the charisma, the dedication, the versatility.. every aspect that makes an actor a superstar. Some superstars had some of these qualities but he combined the best of all these.
Yes, his was a very tall presence and his contribution is mainly as an actor with a great voice. A tremendous screen presence. Excelled as an action hero and also in light roles. A disciplined actor. Salman is only a star and cant be called a star actor.
During that time, there were two who shone inspite of Rajesh Khanna and Bachchan. They were Sanjeev Kumar and Dharmendra.
An Interesting fact is that Bachchan came to TV after his innings as a hero was almost over and he was approaching 60 or so. While Salman came to tv even when he was playing hero roles and getting bo hits. I wonder why he accepted bigboss when he was reigning as a top hero? Is it for big money?
The only Bollywood actor to have given SOLO Super Hit films across 5 different decades and continues to do so till date with the likes of Piku, Pink & Badla. One whose enthralled audiences and benefitted distributors and exhibitors of 3 different generations. Wishing Jhund all the best for a record 6th decade Super Hit film for Bachchan Saab.
From this, you can see even those idiot Salman fans who refer to Big B as a multi starrer hero were terribly wrong. Solo Bachchan shows like Zanjeer, Adaalat, Ganga Ki Saugandh, Mr. Natwarlal, Laawaris, Yaarana, Kaalia, Sharaabi, Mard, Aakhree Raasta and Shahenshah were Blockbusters, Superhits and Hits.
These ratings in imdb/rt are from a wide range of audience. The the general trends there say a lot more than personal anecdotes here. Not everyone out there are online trolls/warriors/bimbos like yourself. Btw, u need basic lessons in civility as u tend to call out anything and anyone that does not succumb to ur v strong opinions.
Films that last and have shelf lives do withstand 8+ ratings in imdb. Its a thumb rule. Lots of movies get 7+ ratings at imdb and it doesnt mean much. The fact that only 4 films of AB enjoys 8+ imdb ratings despite a long list of hits and superhits indicate that those films have not aged that well. This is no poke on his superstardom but on the quality of his films. In the end, superstardom is a fleeting thing in the long run, and what truly remains is the shelf life of films and how the subsequent generations accept them.
And yeah.. no subsequent gens have accepted AB.. no wonder her gave classics like Black and Sarkar in his 60s, Piku and Pink in his 70s and so on. Fyi, even masterpieces like Piku are voted under 8 on your favorite IMDb. Explains how irrelevant that site is in a Bollywood context.
IMDB for Hindi films has become a complete joke. And these days the SSR bots vote en masse to bring down the ratings of all Bollywood releases. According to them, the entire Hindi film industry that employs thousands of technicians, hard-working non-nepo outsiders needs to be canceled.
Imdb should be taken with a pinch or two. Nothing sacrosanct about it anymore. Sometimes I watch films with 5 rating if I feel that film maybe good timepass.
Fans have become clever and they tackle Imdb first.
And unfortunately Salman Khan also is about absolute star power but without quality as an actor. It is the star power that is appreciated by the masses that makes great hits and not necessarily quality of films. That is why Deewar is a bigger hit than Abhimaan or Mili. And sometimes quality films also become great hits. Sholay for example. At the end of it Sholay is a true blue multistarrer unlike other so called multistarrers where one top hero drives the boxoffice.
Henry: I agree that communism is not the answer, but when people get pushed to a corner and feel like there is no alternative, they move to extremes. The centrists and moderates have to course correct society and they are failing.
