ATTOCK: Eminent religious scholar Khateeb Ahle Mohammad Allama Murtaza Mehdi of Lahore while expressing their views on the excellent qualities of Hazrat Ali (AS) before the mourners in Attock has said that the status of Sher e Khuda, Molud e Kahba was only reserved for Hazrat Ali who was subjected to severe tortured by the anti muslim powers. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the excellent religious qualities were being concealed from the Muslim world due to the constant fear of Banu umaya but facts cannot be denied. Allama Murtaza Mehdi urged upon the Muslims to open their eyes and see that Hazrat Ali (AS) laid is life for Allah Almighty asking his companions to offer sweet drink to his killer Abdul Rehman Ibin e Muljum. He said Ali (AS) fought against anti Muslims rulers and succeeded with bravery for the sake of Islam. He reminded his son Imam Hassan the promise of his grand maternal father Hazrat Mohammad (PBUM) saying that he would never sustain and sacrifice his life on 21st Ramazan ul Mubrak leaving a message for the entire Muslims not to bow before the unlawful rulers at all costs. Earlier, hundreds faithful mourners from different parts of district Attock on Thursday have also taken out their condolement procession to commemorate the tragic martyrdom of Imam Hazrat Ali (AS) with religious reverence and fervour under the aegis of Hussainia Matima Tanzeem Attock Cantt. The beloved followers of Hazrat Ali (AS) include Anjuman Fuqra Abass Alkarblay Attock, Shahzada Ali Akbar Qamar bin Hashim, Ghulaman Sajjad Sheenbagh Matimee Tanzeem Hussainia Attock, Faiz Haideri Qaim Al Mohammad Sanjwal and Ghulaman e Abbas Sheen bagh also condoled the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (AS) with their lyrics lamentation. The mourners were also beating their chests, chains with sharp blades to share the sorrowful grief of their Imam Hazrat Ali (AS). The procession was lasted at Imam Bargah Hussania Attock Cantt after crossing through its traditional routes amid tight security cover in pursuance of the policy guidelines of the Punjab Government.

In a candid interview with the Mid-Day, Bollywood actor, Vidyut talked about his personal life with his upcoming film, Khuda Haafiz's actress, Shivaleeka Oberoi and director, Faruk Kabir. When the actor was told that his fans desperately want to know what's his relationship status is. After giving a small smile, Vidyut said, "Jo mere najdeek hai unhe toh pata hai. Like other languages of the Indo-Aryan family, Sindhi is descended from Old Indo-Aryan (Sanskrit) via Middle Indo-Aryan (Pali, secondary Prakrits, and Apabhramsha). 20th century Western scholars such as George Abraham Grierson believed that Sindhi descended specifically from the Vrācaḍa dialect of Apabhramsha (described by Markandeya as being spoken in Sindhu-deśa, corresponding to modern Sindh) but later work has shown this to be unlikely.[6]

Another famous part of Medieval Sindhi literature is a wealth of folktales, adapted and readapted into verse by many bards at various times and possibly much older than their earliest literary attestations. These include romantic epics such as Sassui Punnhun, Sohni Mahiwal, Momal Rano, Noori Jam Tamachi, Lilan Chanesar, and others.[9]

In 1843, the British conquest of Sindh led the region to become part of the Bombay Presidency. Soon after, in 1848, Governor George Clerk established Sindhi as the official language in the province, removing the literary dominance of Persian. Sir Bartle Frere, the then commissioner of Sindh, issued orders on August 29, 1857, advising civil servants in Sindh to pass an examination in Sindhi. He also ordered the use of Sindhi in official documents.[11] In 1868, the Bombay Presidency assigned Narayan Jagannath Vaidya to replace the Abjad used in Sindhi with the Khudabadi script. The script was decreed a standard script by the Bombay Presidency thus inciting anarchy in the Muslim majority region. A powerful unrest followed, after which Twelve Martial Laws were imposed by the British authorities. The granting of official status of Sindhi along with script reforms ushered in the development of modern Sindhi literature.
