Skills: Overall Role Purpose: • Installing, commissioning, managing, tuning, patching, supporting, troubleshooting & performing system administration for UNIX Systems. • Responsible for, but not limited to, the following areas relating to the day-to-day support of the servers and related infrastructure: 1. Capacity Management 2. Configuration Management 3. Performance Management 4. 24 x 7 Availability Management 5. Systems Support 6. Patch Management & Hardening. 7. Hardware maintenance and Monitoring 8. Technical documentation 9. Asset Management 10. Technology (hardware & software) currency 11. Adherence to Incident, Problem & Change management process Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Technology and Tasks : • Installing, commissioning, managing, tuning, patching, supporting, troubleshooting & performing system administration for UNIX Systems. • Ability to perform initial operating system installation & configuration (including server networking & Volume Management). • Ability to perform System recovery, i.e. rebuild servers including hardware, operating system software and data recovery due to a server failure. • Responsible for Performance, Capacity & Availability Management. • Demonstrated ability to tune UNIX system software and make recommendations for performance CPU, Memory & I/O configurations. • Familiarity with performance monitoring tools such as VMSTAT, SAR, IOSTAT, etc. • Familiarity with clustering technology and management required. • Possess appropriate skills in system security, vulnerability remediation, patch management and operating system hardening. • Troubleshooting skills to effect fast problem resolution. • ITIL knowledge especially in the areas of Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management. • Setup and maintain documentation and standards • Plan, order, install, test and maintain all equipment and work with vendors & suppliers to resolve problems. • Knowledgeable in VMWare, SAN environments & backup systems, e.g. VERITAS NetBackup V6.5, VTL (Falconstor), IBM, HDS or EMC SAN storage environments. • General writing, testing & implementation of Unix Scripting. • Supporting SSH • Implement & support clustering Reply with your latest resume Regards Sai krishna Emerio
