The Void Pointer @VOID@

Gedcom 7 includes the void pointer @VOID@ for situations where records are removed before a Gedcom export, but where the links to the records are "semi" retained. For example, a male might be removed before exporting, and the HUSB line that used to link to him is replaced by HUSB @VOID@. The system that imports this file then knows that the family used to have a husband who is not included in the current Gedcom.

Looking over earlier standards I believe this is new in Gedcom 7. Do any of you know of any current use of this feature?
