Hey all. Noel can't make the noon calls.
Can we move the Monday calls to 1:30E/10:30P?

thanks,
roz

P.S. Here are some notes from today's call:

>>strategy shift:

-end of old strategy: trying to ID 1 point person in various cities to run w RootsCamp + orgs with big lists of '06 organizers, so that once there was a point in 5+ cities, orgs would roll out to their lists, fill up events --> really wasn't working, pple not stepping up
-shift to new strategy: (1) DC = heavy recruitment of both senior-level strategy peeps + star '06 organizers (running killer field/comm/internet programs) + netroots leaders; (2) all pitch in to support existing events = NY, SF, Bloomington, (3) if new rootscamps pop up, be supportive but don't offer org resources + encourage them to go to a rootscamp or barcamp first + no suggested timeline (not trying to push 11/18-19)

>>updates:

-zack doing lots of DC invites; Q: how to ID races w. African Amer or Latino candidates we should reach out to?
-ginny in cleveland; talking to progress now OH and CO re them putting on 2 spinoff events; inviting EPs to NY, SF, and DC events (and CO and OH if they happen)
-roz handling DC logistics, following up on lots of outreach to orgs coming home to roost now; coord w Micah, Matt, Cammie, Domingo, Judith, others...
-domingo doing outreach to Grassroots Solutions, Change to Win, SEIU, union leaders to invite them to DC (also SF, NYC) + ask for recommendations of 2-5 union leaders (or organizers) doing stand-out work this year locally to invite to DC;
-judith: making ask of AFL to sponsor space for DC event
-micah: was coord w Energy Action, not sure of status

--not on the call--
-cammie: campaign outreach, talking to roz @ 4est
-matt: sponsorship ($) outreach, talking to ginny today
-noel: finalizing NYC space, more info later today
-jason: outreach to noi folks, needed clarification on strategy/ask
-nica/chris: sf event rolling but needs some volunteers + $$
-kevin: not sure, looks like logistics are set but outreach in process
-heather: did lots of DC outreach, could do more; talking w roz today
-karen: was looking into DC overnight space; outreach?
-andrew: started rootscamp second life

>>to do

-roz call malia re campaigns to reach out to
-roz dc budget
-karen mulhauser ask for Emily's list $$
-domingo will too
-roz rework ginny's sponsorship info for DC
-judith -- $ for space

Hey folks!

I'm very sorry to have missed the call again. Mondays at 12:00 happen to the be the same time my field folks all check in every week. I wanted to offer the following contributions and ideas that I can both offer personally and through Energy Action Coalition. As a result of not being on the calls I don't know how much of this is helpful, so if someone could let me know which things are and are not, I can proceed accordingly.

1. We can do outreach to our lists in cities with rootscamps and in Washington, DC. We will ask ALL of the Energy Action Coalition partners, who do relevant workto do the same below is a list of  some of those partners:

Sierra Student Coalition
League of Conservation Voters Education Fund
Young People For
League of Young Voters

* We can also do outreach centrally.

2. I had seen previous posts about space in New York, I know of a LARGE church in Manhattan that may be able to accommodate the needs, also a potential SEIU facility that I've been to functions at as well. Please let me know if this is still something that needs to be nailed down.

3. Human Rights Campaign might have space for DC if we still need any

4. I just finished a big project and actually have some REAL personal time to devote to anything that needs to bottom lined and isn't currently being done. Other than heading to Wisconsin for the final days of the campaign at the end of the week - I'm available to be supportive! Please let me know!

Thanks so much everyone for all your fabulous work - it's amazing to watch this all unfold!

best,
Jessy

JOIN PROGRESSIVE LEADERS FOR POST-ELECTION DEBRIEF and SKILL SHARE!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With so many people at all levels discovering amazing ways in
communicating, organizing, using technology to make a difference and
adapting to new media habits, it doesn't make sense for a post-
technologists, local union activists, grassroots community leaders,
precinct captains, heads of a local parties and activists who are
kicking ass in a bold new way! We invite you to attend Rootscamp NYC
on Saturday, 18 November 2006 - http://rootscamp.org/RootsCampNYC
What is Rootscamp?
It's a **FREE** unconfrence, where you set the agenda. We will talk
about the past and plan for the future. Think of it as a cross
between an election debrief and grassroots organizing skills share.
The progressive community - everyone from the "netroots" to precinct
captains to field organizers to national message consultants - will
come together and hash out:
* What did we learn in 2006?
* How can we apply those lessons in 2008 and beyond?
* What are our next steps to strengthen the progressive movement?
To partisipate, there are four actions you need to take.
1. Add yourself to the attendants list!
http://rootscamp.org/RootsCampAttendees
2. Joing the RootsCamp NYC Google Group
http://groups.google.com/group/RootsCampNYC
