Dear Nhom Roots,

I hope you and all the babies have been doing well! Thanks again for allowing me to crash your meeting for a few minutes. I haven't seen many of you in a long time, so it really refreshing to talk with you all~

I’m reaching out on behalf of the ACE Mentorship Team because, after thoughtful discernment, your names came up as people we would really love to be invited into our pilot ACE (Anh Chi Em) Mentorship Program.

ACE is a mentorship initiative under Ignis Ministries that hopes to foster intentional accompaniment, growth, and authentic community through one-on-one mentorship rooted in faith, personal formation, and shared life. Ignis Ministries is the CLC-USA Young Adult Ministry focused on forming missionary disciples through retreats, mentorship, and spaces of encounter and accompaniment.

Someone on our team has had the chance to work with you and, in some way, be mentored by you. Whether you realized it at the time or not, that influence made a lasting impact. It’s exactly that kind of quiet, genuine mentorship that we hope to cultivate through ACE.

As we begin this pilot, we’re intentionally starting small and inviting a handful of people we trust and admire. We’re also very aware that this invitation comes to people who already carry a lot, so please know there is no pressure here. This is simply an invitation to consider and discern alongside us.

To launch the pilot, we will be hosting a Mentorship Onboarding Weekend with the mentors we initially invite. This weekend will help ground us in the vision of ACE, offer practical mentorship tools, and create space for connection among the mentors before we begin accompanying others.

We also wanted to be transparent about the general commitment involved in this pilot. The mentorship journey would span approximately 9 months:

  • The 2 months would focus on mentor training, orientation, discernment, and mentor-mentee matching.

  • The following 6 months would center on the mentor-mentee relationship itself, with trimester mentor check-ins along the way and a final evaluation gathering with both mentors and mentees at the end of the pilot.

  • The final month would be for final evaluation and feedback on the overall program and ways to improve for the following offerings.

While we hope the structure provides support and clarity, we also want this to feel sustainable and life-giving rather than burdensome.

If this is something you’re open to exploring, we’d love to share more details and hear what your current season looks like. Even if now isn’t the right time, we’re grateful for the ways you’ve already invested in others, and we wanted to honor that by reaching out. I also have started the conversation about prerecording or adjusting our training date, and our team will discuss in depth at our next meeting how to better accommodate your needs as potential mentors!

Thank you for your time and for the ways you continue to show up for people so generously.

Warmly,

Paulina
