This probably influences how we get ROOT binaries to Travis.

Thanks for the info. So it'll stop working in 90 days. The options I see are:
1. Use rootpy.org
2. I could put them in my personal www folder at MPIK
3. Put them in the cloud like github suggests

There are about 100 MB download per travis-ci build.
Noel, would putting it on rootpy.org incur extra costs?
If not I would suggest 1, if yes I would suggest 2 (which is a fast, high-uptime, free solution).

Christoph

PS: Peter, I was a bit disappointed after opening your email, at first I thought you had started to blog about rootpy. :-)

Dropbox public folder has 10GB/day limit. Should be plenty for us.

Thanks Piti, I forgot about Drobpox, seems easiest.

We now use it for the ROOT binary tar ball download for the travis-ci builds instead of github download:

Hi guys,

So it seems dropbox is ending the "public folder" feature for new customers. I did some hunting around and discovered copy.com which offers 15GB free. Public folders can be created and the URL to the files in public folders is the same for all files in the folder (unlike dropbox). Since I clicked through a referral link to sign up we got an additional 5GB and then I referred my wife so got another 5GB. Then I created a twitter account for rootpy (@rootpyproject), tweeted about copy.com and got another 2GB. So now with 27GB I think we are set to post ROOT builds for python 2.6, 2.7 and eventually 3.2. I already uploaded builds of all recent ROOT tags for python 2.7. For now we can stick with only a few enabled in travis-ci. Eventually they may all be useful if we can setup a build matrix with jenkins.

Cheers,
Noel
