Coming this week.....

So, I had a long talk with the kids this morning about the fact that we are going to have as normal a week as possible. We are doing reading, writing and math.

The week we are reading "A New Hope" This is a story about a family that moves west in the 1800's and establishes a new community. Ask your child what happened that helped the family decide where they should start their new town.

In dictation we are working on homophones, prepositions, the long e sound spelled:e, e_e, ee, ea, and ie, past tense verbs, and suffixes -less and -ful.

Vocabulary this week includes: recycle, ferried, brisk, bustling, invitation, and citizens

Spelling words have the -less, -ful suffix

We are finishing Unit 11 in math.

Hope all of this Helps!! This time of year is always sad for me, but this year seems even more so.

Homework will be on a night by night basis depending on how much we get done in class. I will try to send an update letting you know the nightly homework.
Tonights: They should have brought home a spelling list to practice for our test on Friday. They also needed to finish pg. 275 and 276 in their math journal.
