Coming this week......
This week we will be starting unit 6 on "Our Country and its People". We will be reading abou8t "The First Americans". This is a story that will teach the kids about the Nativer Americans. I will send home a spelling list on Wednesday. They will be tested on Friday. We will also have a comprehension and dictation test on Friday. Dictation focus' on comparing words, prefixes un, re, and mid, suffixes ful and s, the z sound spelled withe an s or z.
We will also continue writing a descriptive paragraph with adjectives, similies, topic sentences and concluding sentences.
We will continue reading BFG (Big Friendly Giant).
We will continue with unit 11 in Math. Test will be next Friday.
This week we will also be learning about Claude Monet and finishing up last minute preparations for Open House. It is tonight from 7-8. I hope to see you all there. The kids have worked so hard to make you and me proud. I can't wait for you to see all that they have done!!
I will also be working on end of the year assessments.

Tuesday, May 29 Open House 6-8 (6-7 bin the Multi use room, from 7-8 in the classroom)
Wednesday May 30 Happy Birthday Andrew!!!
Thursday May 31, Volunteer Tea!! If you have volunteered this year please make sure you come at 8:00 AM
Friday, June 1 Assessments: Spelling, Comprehension and dictation.
FYI I decided that for field day we will do our own classroom lunch so don't worry about sending money for their lunch on field day. I haven't decided exactly what it will be yet, but I will keep you posted. There will definitely be a Veggie option.
