Announcements:
Last night was the CFFA meeting. CFFA Meetings are held first Monday
of every month, September through June. Meetings are in Room 1 and
last from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. CFFA Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
promotes many programs and activities at Chadbourne
Elementary. All programs are supported by volunteer time and monetary
contributions from Chadbourne parents.  

Movie nights have been replaced by the following events that will take
place at the end of each quarter as a reward, recognition, and
appreciation of the students hard work. The final details and dates
haven’t been decided but you can start to look forward to participate
in Zumba Night, Board Games Night and Spaghetti Night. You can read

Reminders:
Thursday, October 6, is picture day. Have your picture packets
completed and dress the children extra nicely. The photography company
will also be taking pictures of the volunteers for ID badges.
Volunteers, please arrive between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm to the
multipurpose room to have your picture taken.

Thursday, October 6, is Back To School Night at 5:00 pm

Teacher Messages:
Homework Folders are due by Friday. Please review each homework
assignment front and back to make sure that they are completed.
Homework is meant to take your child less than half-hour a night to
complete. If it is taking longer, please let Ms. Herbert know. In
addition to the homework, your child should read for twenty minutes
every night.

Open Court Reading booklets help increase your child’s reading speed.
Create a special place or box that is easily accessible for your child
to store the booklets and encourage them to read them out loud.

Tuesday Folders are due by Wednesday. Please empty the folders and
review the completed assignments with your child. Remember to praise
them for a well job done! This Tuesday folder publications include the
lunch menu, Halloween order form, photography packet, Chadbourne
spirit T-shirt order form, and Scholastic book orders. If you are
missing a publication, please let Ms. Herbert know.

Classroom Highlights:
To encourage the children to work quietly and stay on task, Ms.
Herbert and I, hand-out raffle tickets. The more raffle tickets your
child earns the better chances he or she has to win a prize.
