Hello -

We seem to have arranged that the quarry people will repair the stretch of road between the quarry and Alain's corner.  We'll have to see whether that works out tomorrow morning, so this isn't a promise but just the best I can do for the moment.

I'm trying to find out more about the DME's role and responsibility for the mining permit and conditions of mining, but this may be a slow process.

I still think it's too early to start making a public fuss about this.  It's clear to me that we haven't completely exhausted the fund of possible good-will available, but I'm sure that people will start going back into their shell the moment we publish their 'misdeeds' in the newspapers and on radio.  That is to say, I can't stop anyone from saying what they like, but I won't associate myself with any public pronouncements on the situation, if you understand what I mean.
