Hi there Mal / David CF

Any feedback re the road... Especially the repair of 'our piece'? Seems to be getting worse and worse?

Regards
Louise

Hi Louise -

Nothing yet.  I'll be talking to the Council people before the weekend to get information from them so I can report back by this weekend.

Tx && rgds,

Mal

Certainly some rain forecast by weekend, as of etv weather report last night.

Up to a point I'm trying to balance our definite need to have a usable road, against the chances that we can use the shocking condition of the road against the quarry.  After all, I aim to assist the Council in a court case against the quarry.  To a degree it can help our case if the quarry is demonstrated not to be maintaining the road after destroying it.  They are under Council orders to repair the road by the end of this month.  They've started maintaining the road in the direction of the N7, but not in the direction of Dageraad.

But I recognise that we still need to have a usable road.

I'll keep you all informed.  If you have different opinions or have another approach to suggest, by all means let's hear it!

Tx && rgds,

Mal

I am very grateful for your efforts Mal!

I would be hard pushed to call what the quarry is doing to the road as road repairs. Something you may point out to the council?

David.

Hi -

hard pushed to call what the quarry is doing to the road as road repairs

I agree Dave, and when I talk to the Council this week, I'm going to dismiss them as 'running repairs', which do nothing for the permanent state of the road.  Since the quarry made those repairs, the road has again begun to buckle under the strain of their trucks.

And again I will tell them that nothing has been done for the damage they caused in the other direction.

Tx && rgds,

Mal
