U.S. El Salvador Sister Cities Gathering - October 6 and 7!

We want to invite all our Philly Romero Interfaith Center and Interfaith Building Group folks to next week's U.S. El Salvador Sister Cities National Gathering!

Copied below is the agenda for both Saturday and Sunday - we especially encourage you to try to make it Saturday morning to hear the presentations being provided by our invited guests from El Salvador!  Both breakfast (starting at 8:30am) and lunch will be provided.

9:00-9:30: Welcome and Introductions (Joanie)

9:30-10:00: Each committee gives an introduction and talks a bit about the work they do (Leigh)

10:00-10:45: Speech by CRIPDES representative, Zulma Hernandez   

10:45-11:30: Presentation on the Anti-Mining Fight by Felipe of San Jose las Flores and Alex

11:30-12:00: Presentation on Sister Cities successes (Estela & Alex)

12:00-12:45: Lunch

12:45-1:45: Presentation on the Human Rights and Anti-Militarization Campaign (Estela &Tanya)

1:45-2:00: Break

2:00-3:15: Small group discussions (with a focus on making local connections) about:

              Organizing around environmental threats in El Salvador and the U.S. (Maine or Madison person and Alex)

              Organizing around human rights and militarization

3:15-4:30: Solidarity Communication workshop (Jesse Newcomb)

4:30-4:45: Wrap up and look ahead to Sunday, announcements (Carol)
