Romanian-born Toronto Singer Singing as Finalist at DMC Expo!

Hello Romanian Students Club!

Jane Harbury Publicity is currently working on a wonderful event, the
DMC (Dance, Music, Comedy) Expo, taking place on Saturday, September
10th at the International Centre, MISSISSAUGA 3:30 – 10PM $30 advance
tickets / $40 at door.

The event features finalists from the GTA in the dance, music and
comedy categories. These finalists will have the opportunity to win
cash prizes and be judged by a panel of industry professionals. Grammy-
Nominated, Juno-Award Winner, Glenn Lewis will perform as the
headlining act.

Most importantly however, I am excited to email you because one of the
selected finalists in the music category is Carmen Corcoz, a Romanian-
born Toronto Singer! It is a great opportunity for the Romanian
community to come together to support this bright star at this
wonderful event.

It would be wonderful if we could work together to spread the word
about this event, but most importantly, to spread the word amongst the
Romanian community.

Summary of DNC:

The DMC Expo is the brainchild of comedian [and now, self-confessed
entrepreneur] Brian Francis. He has his own faithful audience that
supports him at Yuk-Yuk’s Comedy Club where he has been a firm
favourite for the past four years. Jamaican-born and Toronto-raised
Brian Francis’ humour is a blend of his island roots and life in
Canada. Between 2006 and 2010 he produced and starred in The Canadian
Coconut—eight one-hour stand up comedy shows at three premier venues
in Toronto. The most recent show was in support of the Canadian
Breast Cancer Foundation. Having enjoyed success as a trade show
account manager as well as in the world of comedy, Brian Francis made
the leap to produce his own expo! The DMC Expo has been created with
the express purpose to provide opportunity and exposure for Canadian
talent in Dance, Music and Comedy and takes place September 10,
2011.

In addition to the entertainment aspect, DMC Expo will also feature a
great mix of exhibitors showing their wares and promising something
for everyone. If identified as appropriate exhibitors, event
organizers offer excellent opportunities to arts and entertainment
organizations, recording studios, dance studios, vocal coaches, cool
clothing retailers, mobile phone providers and more.

This is a chance for Mississauga and the GTA to embrace, support and
take ownership of something new and unique.

Carmen Corcoz - Biography:

Singer, writer, actress - Carmen Corcoz is a 24-year-old rising star
that utterly ts
the description "she's got it all".

At the age of 13 she had won recognition by The Worlds Famous Poet
Society
awarding her with the year's most talented writer. She describes her
own music
as soulful and inspiring while in each song she tries to signify a
deep meaning.

The musical journey of Carmen Corcoz did not begin in Canada, however.
Born
in Romania, it was there that she developed a musical interest.
Growing up in a
talented country and family meant that Carmen was always surrounded by
di erent forms of music. Her father was a lead singer, guitarist, in
his high-school
band and her sister, also a singer as a teenager. It wasn't long after
Carmen
picked up the microphone and started composing her own music.

Her writing skills, unique sound, and image are a total package that
no one can
avoid . "This isn't just a passion, dream and love of mine. This is
me, a goal, in
achieving to nd new- hidden-thrown parts of myself through my talents
and in
hopes of inspiring others to do the same".
