{RSC:26} Book Launch: "The Spanish Guru"

Dragi prieteni,

Avem deosebita placere sa va invitam pe data de 15 Mai, la o lansare
de carte in cadrul comunitatii noastre, eveniment sprijinit si
sponsorizat de Clubul Studentilor Romani de la University of Toronto.

Tanara scriitoare, Catrinel Ionescu, este nascuta in Romania si
locuieste in Toronto. Catrinel, sub pseudonimul C.R. Preston, va
prezenta cartea scrisa in limba engleza - The Spanish Guru - o satira
sociala a unei lumi in care vechile valori au fost inlocuite de
mirajul banului. Actiunea cartii se invirte in jurul unui june aratos,
dar lipsit de scrupule, imoral si orgolios, decis sa ajunga in virful
piramidei sociale, prin orice mijloace. Personaj tipic pentru tinerele
democratii est-europene, Leborio Borzelini evolueaza intr- un anturaj
pe masura lui.

Intilnirea noastra va avea loc Sambata, 15 Mai, incepand cu orele 4:30
pm, la Hart House Theatre (Music Room) unde va asteptam cu nerabdare.
Catrinel va discuta cu placere cu invitatii si va raspunde la
intrebari. In cadrul biletului procurat de la intrarea in sala, ($10)
se vor oferi refreshmenturi si un exemplar din carte. Va multumim
anticipat pentru prezenta.

This Saturday, the 15th of May, we have the pleasure of inviting you
to a book launch in our community, an event sponsored by the Romanian
Students Club at the University of Toronto.

The young writer is Catrinel Ionescu, who’s Romanian born, and now
living in Toronto. Under the pseudonym C.R. Preston, she will present
the English written book - "The Spanish Guru" - a social satire of a
world in which old values get replaced by the mirage of wealth. The
book's main character is a handsome young man, with no scruples,
immoral and proud, and who wants to get to the top of the social
pyramid by any means. Leborio Borzelini is a typical character for the
young East-European democracies, who evolves in an appropriate
entourage.

We will meet Saturday, May 15th at 4:30 pm, at Hart House Theatre
(Music Room) where we hope to see you all. Catrinel will hold a
discussion with all the guests and answer any questions. Also included
with the entrance fee of $10.00 is a copy of the book and
refreshments.
