The Special Project Office of the Central European University is seeking candidates for a part-time “Assistant, Intensive English Language Training for Young Roma University Graduates” position for fixed term of 1 year to be changed for an indefinite contract after successful completion of the first year.
Level: Junior

Full Or Part Time: Part-Time (20 hours / week)
 
The Special Project Office of the Central European University is seeking candidates for a part-time “Assistant, Intensive English Language Training for Young Roma University Graduates” position for fixed term of 1 year to be changed for an indefinite contract after successful completion of the first year.
 
Duties and responsibilities:
 
• Overall coordination of the Intensive English Language Training for Young Roma University Graduates (IELT) under the supervision of the Coordinator of the Roma Access Program and the Senior Program Manager of the Special Projects Office and in close cooperation with the Academic English Advisor
• Administering a recruitment campaign and organizing the work of the selection committee
• Making visa arrangements, dorm reservation, travel coordination, and all other necessary arrangements for student arrival and orientation
• Providing overall support and advice to IELT students
• Communicating and liaising with relevant university departments and offices (Admissions, Student Services, etc.)
• Developing course schedules, including classroom bookings and equipment booking
• Maintaining databases
• Arranging contracts and payments for program staff
• Administering program budget and assisting in financial reporting to program’s donors (in cooperation with the Senior Program Manager)
• Preparing program narrative reports (in cooperation with Academic English Advisor) for program’s donors
• Providing logistical and administrative support for student events
• Contributing to raising the visibility of the program in our target region
 
Qualifications:
 
• University degree in Social Sciences or Humanities, MA would be preferred
• Previous experience of working with Roma organizations, preferably in the area of education
• Excellent knowledge of English and at least one Central or Eastern European language, knowledge of Romanes would be an advantage
 
Compensation:
 
The position comes with an initial one-year contract to be changed for an indefinite contract after successful completion of the first year.
 
Commensurate with experience. However, we offer a competitive salary, as well as a dynamic and international academic environment.
