Steve and Laney,

I Googled Cass Holt Road, Holly Springs to get this information.

You continue south and east past the visitor’s entrance to the Shearon Harris nuclear power plan on State Road 1127.  Turn right where it intersects with Cass Holt Road.  It turns into a dirt road (It is also listed as State Road 1116 and eventually becomes Rollins Mill Road).  You will cross a bridge at the bottom of the hill (closest point to the lake and near the cutback to the left on the map) and in the woods on the left is the old Rollins mill.  Continue on up the road and when you get near the crest of the road the grave site will be up in the woods on the left.  The gravesite site was not visible from the road but it had a fence around it.  It is before you get to the houses that you can see in the satellite view near the Rollins Mill label.

By the way, there is a radio ad that I hear from time-to-time featuring a Brad Rollins who owns Fairview Gardens or Nursery (?) that is located near Holly Springs.  I may have the name of his company wrong, but every time I hear it I figure that he must be related and know something about the family history in the area.

Steed

Hey guys,

I've been scratching and clawing at the Johnson line lately. A couple
of related finds:

1. I tracked Daniel Johnson who married Charity Holleman to Arkansas.
In the 1900 census he reported that his parents - Charles Johnson and
Prudence Mann - were both born in Virginia.

2. Laney, you will get a kick out of this - the William B. Johnson who
married Henrietta Rollins, as I half suspected, ties into my Johnson
line. He turns out to be the son of Joseph E. Johnson, grandson of
Dempsey Johnson, and great-grandson of John Johnson - a brother of
half-brother of Richard and Charles Johnson.

I plan to be in the RDU area roughly Dec. 25-30. Laney, are you game
for some bushwhacking? We have some family graveyards to find and
photograph. Hopefully we can meet up with Vann again and scout around
in the woods. It will be a good way to work off some of those
Christmas calories!

Steed, can you give me rough directions to the little family graveyard
you found on Cass Holt Rd. near the Boothe cemetery?

Hope all are well and have enjoyed a nice Thanksgiving!

Steve
