More Sloan stuff.

Tom Shoemaker here again.

I was grave hunting a few days ago, up in North Carolina.

I was making sure my GPS locations for Caroline and AJ Sloan

were in the NAD 84 format (long story), when I looked over

and saw a grave for Buchanan.

 

Since you keep the best Sloan records, I figured I'd send you the

photos.

This is the grave for Elizabeth (Bettie) Sloan and her husband

Daniel Buchanan.  Also, a baby is there (un-named).

This is in the Jonesboro Cemetery (now the town of Sanford) in NC.

It's a stones throw from Alvin Johnson and Caroline Thayer (Rollins)

Sloan.

 

I am cc'ing the Rollins group, since they seem to do the same thing

we do.

 

Bettie Sloan was Caroline and Alvin Johnson Sloan's daughter (as well

as Minnie Davis Sloan).  Caroline was the daughter of Burwell Rollins.

Bettie and Daniel B Buchanan are at 35.45060N, 79.15542W NAD 84.

I already sent you the obit for one of Bettie's daughters and I see you

have it on your site.  The thing we learn from my visit to Jonesboro is

the date of death of Bettie and her husband and an extra baby we didn't

know about.

 

I wish I could find Robert and Alex Sloan.  I'm sure they're up in the

same area of NC.
