Job Description Summary In this role, the Customer Application Engineer will spend 50% of her/his time in
Technical Applications role and 50% in Customer Support and field service engineer
50% Customer Applications Engineer will be responsible for business development of Turkey Market, products prequalification, competitor information, and Turkey market understanding, L2 technical support, customer intimacy with clients in Utilities,
O&G, Process and Mining & other industries in Turkey and other countries we are supplying products through Turkey channels. She/He will closely coordinate his activities with GE sales, engineering, and services.
50% Customer Support Engineer will own complete customer support process in Turkey, be responsible for aftersales, own the cases from inception until resolution, coordinate with regional/global applications and product management teams, supervise site operation
teams to assure full resolution of the problems, L1 technical support, to achieve business targets of customer satisfaction
This position will report to Grid Automation Cluster Leader NAFT, and functionally to regional Applications and customer support leaders Job Description
Roles And Responsibilities
- EHS, ensure work is conducted in compliance with applicable regulations and encourage accurate employee safety practices
- Responsible and accountable for: yearly orders OP, creation of opportunities based on installed base, and market information.
- Fully responsible for PAC (Products Automation Control) solutions.
- Territory of work is Turkey and other MENAT countries.
- Application Support (L1/L2): Provide technical support to clients in the region e.g., technical queries, developing customized solutions, supporting scheme engineering, analyzing field performance etc.
- Promotions & Approvals: product launches, presentations, discussions, spec-in activities, exhibitions/conferences, site trials etc. through marketing. Implement actions necessary for product approvals based
on regional strategy and priorities
- Product Problems / Non-quality Issues: Take the lead in investigating and resolving product problems reported when requested by customers (L1). Support local actions required for resolution of major non-quality
issues
- Commercial (Tendering & Negotiation): Support Tendering team - Study customer’s technical & commercial requirements. Support Management during contract negotiation
- Commercial channels & Market Monitoring: Improve awareness of GA solutions. Obtain competitor data, market share, volume etc. Track evolving customer specifications & requirements.
- Product Management: Be aware of product obsoletions, new product availability etc. and provide appropriate customer support in line with regional strategy. Keep track of firmware upgrades, changes in product
features etc. and participate in necessary local actions. Support customers vis-à-vis product literature needs.
- Fully responsible for repair/modification of products.
- Meet KPIs for customer requests resolution and product repairs time & quality (any level of complexity) as set by the business, and actively suggest on how to improve
- Support the region in providing advance technical support and be a trusted advisor to customers.
- Promote Maintenance service agreements (MSA) offering in coordination with the GA Service PL, co-owning plans, and actions with the goal of expanding our activities in the regions, segments, and accounts.
- Provide both external and internal timely, accurate, professional reports
- Collaborate and coordinate with Product Management, Technology, Global Supply Chain, and other divisions of the Product Line to provide them with quality inputs for any future improvements in our processes,
products and solutions
- Ensure service activities in Turkey and across the region
- Ensure Projects closing in Turkey
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering or related departments
- Min. 3 years experience in Applications/Engineering/Commissioning of protection and control in transmission, distribution, industrial and power plants environments
- Experience in Energy/Utility Project environments
- Experience with Electrical Protection relays and Control Systems (LV, MV & HV)
- Fluent Turkish and English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to minimum 50% travel to customer site
Desired Qualifications
- Hands on experience in GE products
- Must be independent in his line of work, dedicated team player with a sense of urgency and an ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills with a strong customer focus and ability to cooperate with the different departments
