Gregg, I did try the Widget, but still have the same issues as before with the buttons being unresponsive on the G1. The Roku button is the only one that seems to work and it opens the app.
Thanks.

thr33ts - thanks for the feedback!
With the new scan function, I'm finding that it doesn't work when the Roku is connected wirelessly. So I'm re-writing the device selection and it won't make you click OK to continue. It will show a brief message at the bottom saying it will use your previous settings. And I don't think there's anything I can do to make the Roku respond to the scan if it's connected wirelessly - I think that's a problem with the Roku itself and how it works on the network.
I agree that the text entry is flakey. I put a lot of delays when sending each character, but I find that the Roku box ignores them if they are received while it's querying for matching movies. You can see how even with the physical remote it re-scans movie titles after each character is entered. Have you tried the other text entry screen? You can get to it by swiping the screen to the left.
BTW, has anyone tried the Roku Remote widget?

Gregg,
This is not neccessarily a bug, but I was wondering if you would be updating the app logo as well to match the new design.

Gregg,
I can deffinately try my hand at it and try and come up with something.

Ah - yes, it should be updated. I tried my hand at creating a new launcher icon, and it looks pretty bad. Any chance you have time to create one?
Here is a picture that is posted on Engadget of the new remote: http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/09/09-22-10remote.jpg
Not sure if it makes sense to show the new remote (or the top part of it), or come up with a totally different icon. Any ideas?
BTW, the launcher icon for most phones is 48x48 pixels (medium resolution). High res phones allow for 72x72 pixels. More info here:

The problem I have is that if I support multiple screen resolutions, I have to drop support for Android 1.5. What I may do is put out a new version with all the new features that works with 1.5, then move the app to support only 1.6 or higher and multi-resolution screens. 1.5 users won't be able to get updates at that point, but at least they will be more current than where they are now.

Thanks Trista - these look much better than mine! Ill test then out once I get back in town.

Not a problem. Also, I didn't know if the shadow was supposed to be part of the image or if that was an effect you created when setting it up as the icon, so if I need to take off the shadows let me know.
Hope the rest of your trip is enjoyable!
Thanks

Actually the shadow is part of the image.

Gregg,
I did find something else that could possibly be concidered a potential bug, our roku got unpluged, and when it came back on the network, it had a different ip address. Since I already had manually input a previous ip address, it did not recognize it as a new device, and I was not able to change it on the preferences panel, instead, I had to re-enter a new ip address under add a new device.

I guess I should add the option to edit the job address in the preferences.
Thanks
