there are a few included backgrounds, want to know if possible to use
my own.
if just a matter of making a certain size png file just need to know
where to drop it.

It isn't possible yet.  The backgrounds aren't stored separately, but are part of APK.

I see they are in res drawable.
would it be wrong for me to experiment by adding a few, remaking apk
and reinstalling ONLY on my system?
I did pay if that matters, just don't want to cross any lines.
