Have you tried adding a new device? You can find this option by opening the app, hitting the menu button, and then selecting add device.
When I downloaded the update on my ROKU I had the same issue, and this worked great for me.
Thanks for your suggestion Tristan - that might work.
I would also suggest unplugging your Roku box for a few seconds and then plug it in again.

I'm currently using a G linksys router. I'll try to hook it up directly to the router tonight to see what the issue is.
That is really strange. Not sure what could cause a problem like that. Sounds like a network issue of some kind. The only thing I can think of is to unplug the Roku and plug it in again so it resets. Other than that I'm out of ideas.

The only problem with attaching your roku device wired vs wireless is that it will in effect issue it a new ip address. However, depending on what type of router or software you have you should be able to look up all of the ip addresses on your network. Some routers will even show you which ip's are wireless, or what kind of device is using that ip.
Alternatively, if you don't know how to find your ip address using your router, there are apps that you can download that will scan your network and show you all of the ip addresses. (If you turn off all of the devices that are connected to your device except for your roku and phone then only three ip's will show up, the router address itself, your phone and your roku) You should be able to distinguish from the router ip, but otherwise just try all three and you should be able to get it to work.
However, if it is functioning, though delayed, it does sound like you need to reset your roku device as it could be a glitch in the roku software. Then, if it still does not work you can try the above method.
Hope this helps :)

I would but I don't have a monitor to configure the player on. Is there any way I could find the IP of the device without looking at the screen? Like I can plug it in to the router and power it on but I dont have a TV where my router is so I can't configure it.

Greg,
My app updated today, and for some reason it is not working either. I have tried all of the methods mentioned above. It does scan for the device and locates it, but then nothing happens...it was working fine for me yesterday. I still have the G1 running Donut.
Thanks

This truly just feels hopeless. I put the url into my browser and the text shows up, etc. I try to use the remote and it wont work. I use the regular remote and go and check to see I have the correct IP address and then all of a sudden a bunch of commands I guess hit the roku making it go to the home screen, left, right, OK, etc. I guess I'm stuck just not using this app.

Roku has been pushing out a lot of updates recently. I just tested on mine with the 2.9 1534 build and it works fine.
If you aren't running that build, go to settings and check for updates. Also you may need to power off the Roku and power on again.
