FYI. This is great news for Cupertino. Looks like they'll be able to put in those pickleball courts now.

City Reaches Settlement to Secure Millions in Sales Tax

The City of Cupertino is pleased to announce that it has resolved the dispute with the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) regarding the distribution of sales tax revenues to Cupertino. The settlement reached with the CDTFA allows the City to keep the funds previously allocated and anticipated for receipt through August 2024 and avoid lengthy and costly litigation.

According to my local city government expert (my wife) this is just “okay” news. It means the city does not have to pay back the money it got from Apple’s mis-calculated tax revenue in prior years. (Money that is already spent!) But going forward, the “corrected” tax calculation will be used, and will mean less Apple tax revenue for Cupertino.
Pickleballers will have to struggle for resources with everyone else!

Well, at least they don't have to pay back. I thought that was why the city is millions of the dollars in hole.
