Post Labor Day Holiday

If you are on other lists you might have already seen this post...sorry!  But I figured I would give this group a try as well.

We will be out in the N. California/S.W. Oregon from 9/5 to about 9/10.  We are looking for interesting and fun stuff to do out that way, that perhaps only locals know about.  Not sure what we will be driving but it looks like either her Fiat or my 110.   

Our itinerary so far:

Sept. 4 staying in Tahoe

Sept. 5 We will be staying in Santa Rosa (need suggestion for camping) so we can enjoy Pliny on tap. So closer in is better.  

Sept. 6/7 We are staying at Prairie Creek redwoods SP, then to Mill Creek campground just north of that.

Sept. 8 we head to S.W. Oregon

That is what we have so far.

In Southern Oregon the Applegate valley is know for its wine and scenery.

Ashland is known for its art, theater, outdoor activities, history, and hippies.

Howard Prairie and Hyatt lake are great for camping and recreation

Crater lake national park

Rogue River fishing, rafting, jet boat tours

Grants Pass has several parks and dining, all on the river

Mamosa's, The Haul, and Taprock for great food

Griffin Park is a nice campground just outside GP

Thanks for the detailed response!  All sounds great and we will do our research along these.

We are ver excited about our trip. We have spent a couple years exploring Oregon however the SW corner is an area we have not done much checking out. So this is the year.
