Energizing allies.

The Eye & Tooth Project uses Forum Theatre to create more effective allies for

individuals on death row (and other imprisoned persons), families of death row inmates, and victims’ families.

Making theatre.

What is Forum Theatre? Forum Theatre was devised by Brazilian artist/activist Augusto Boal. Facilitators set up a process through which workshop participants create a short play.  At the end of the workshop, participants perform that play for a public audience.  We’ll invite audience members to call out “Stop!” at any moment—and to try out their own approaches to the issues. Audience interventions become springboards for dialogue and a post-performance panel.

No prior theatre skills or experience needed!

Working for change.

Eye & Tooth also explores how we can help build momentum for bills related to the death penalty introduced in the 2009 session of the Texas Legislature.
