In an environment that will, for the near-term, only include Revit, what would be the free best viewer to make available to non-Revit users who will have a need to view models. I 'd prefer something that alllows exploring the model in depth. Download size is also a consideration though not as important. The only two candidates I'm aware of are Revit as a Demo Viewer (no license) and Navisworks Freedom. Which is "best"?

Get the whole-project view using Navisworks solutions. Combine design data created in AutoCAD and Revit software-based products and other applications with models created by other design tools. Then, view these files with Navisworks Freedom viewer software. NWD files viewed with Navisworks Freedom give stakeholders equal access to explore and experience whole projects.

I want to show X,Y,Z axes in forge viewer at the bottom-left corner like Navisworks. I can create the axes lines (described here) in a certain position of the viewer. But, as expected, whenever I navigate to somewhere the axes also moves. I want it to be placed at the bottom-left corner every time and syncing with the viewer X,Y,Z axes. The Navisworks axes in HUD is like below -

I'd recommend using the approach used by the viewer's "view cube" (in the top-right corner). That cube is actually rendered in its own element, and overlaid on top of the viewer canvas. You could create your own element in the bottom-right corner, use standard three.js (specifically version 71 that's included in Forge Viewer) to render your axes there, and update their orientation based on the viewer's Autodesk.Viewing.CAMERA_CHANGE_EVENT.

The free viewer Autodesk NavisWorks Freedom 2009 is available now. It is a great 3D viewer and with great performance on even very large BIM models created with AutoCAD, Revit or several other applications.

Generally, most contractors of a company do not have the ability to view 3D models (such as Autodesk Revit files) because of not having access to the necessary application. With the model viewer in the Documents tool, all project users can quickly access and view 3D models directly in Procore.

The following file types are currently supported in the 3D model viewer in the Documents tool:
Note: The latest modeling software versions are typically supported 6 months after their initial release. Support for additional file types will be added in the future.
