Noel,  Glad to see the group back.  My Rodgers 928 has been non functional for last 6 months.  Re[pair has been complicated by Covid issues but wonder if there are any suggestions.  It started initially with only a few voices that had unexpected different harmonics  intermittently in them.  If those voices were not used the organ was playable.  When the repairman came out they wouldn’t misbehave.  Since then the organ has deteriorated.  On occasions it will lockup on starting.  It stops with all the swell and Great pedal lights at full green and stops loading.  You can’t turn it off as it won’t stop working.  It has to be unplugged.   That has only happened a couple of times.   The more common issue is  either the organ  LCDn on booting up will either show just a part of the Rodgers loading logos or may go right to the Trillium Masterpiece.  If seems to go two  Trillium Masterpiece after sitting a few days (sometimes).  If it goes there it will load and play fine but if you then turn it off and turn it back on it shows a little of the rodgers loading sequence first.  Anytime there is even a bit of the rodgers loading sequence showing the organ squeals with static and none of the stops work.  This is the most commo0n event.  The repair man opened the organ looking for loose connections and checked the battery which was fine.  It sounds like a computer loading issue to my uneducated guess.  Wondering if there is a reset other than unplugging and restarting which has been tried.  There was also a question by the repair person about some models allowing a computer hookup for diagnostics but he planned to research it.  He does get back but with all the other issues it has been 6 months that I haven’t been able to use it.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks.  Leslie g Pool

Did your tech check for Crystal Sockets on the boards.

If he did not, get him out again - ay his expense not yours.

This is a very well known problem and your dealer has been contacted about this and all techs working on Rodgers organs are expected to know about this and investigate this.

This is a problem wiht how the organ was built and is solved with removal sockets and soldering of the crystals directly into the board.

This is the primary cause of ALL the symptoms that you are experiencing.

Did I answer your question or help you today?

Thanks for the reply.  I did relay that information to the repairman and I thought he checked the crystal sockets and I understood they were already  directly on the board but sent the information back to him.  Certainly if it is a known issue he should be able to address it.  We don’t have a local Rodgers dealer in Boise anymore and Salt Lake is the closest at over 300 miles.  Portland is about the same distance.  The repairman has worked for the dealer who had the local Rodgers dealership but they recently have let the dealership drop.  I am surprised as there are a number of LDS churches in this area that are still using and purchasing organs unlike the protestant church I attend.  Thanks for all your help.  Leslie G Pool

The LDS have unfortunately reorganized and shut down their PM groups that took care of service and maintenance locally I am told by techs and have hired outside contractors leaving local techs out of the picture totally, after years of supporting the LDS churches in their area.

Sad.
