Hey O-fficers,

So before I get into my weekly blurb, a correction on last week's email. Once again my unavailability to partake, and subsequent blocking from my mind, in the Woodmead event has shone through, after I referred to the Randpark event as the final night-O of the year. Indeed, you have yet another chance to fall into a bunker on the 19th of May at the Woodmead event!

Speaking of Randpark, here is the link to the Attackpoint splits. Talk about a ROC-wash! I do enjoy reading the breakdown on the RACO site: "The longer and more complex Ladies race was won by Michele Botha (no surprise), while Alex Pope clinched it in the challenging Mens category." Yes, it was no surprise :) Well done to all the ladies (and Alex who isn't a lady) for a top 4!
I've attached all the results in PDF too.

Then, THIS WEEKEND:
We've got a healthy number of entries for the O-ringen already, but the more the merrier! There is STILL accommodation listed as being available in Kaapsehoop, and I know for fact that there's still a whole bunch of Orienteering adventure available! So if you haven't entered or haven't yet planned to come along then just cancel everything else and make the cO-rrect choice. Nothing says Freedom day more than being free to run your O-wn path in the forest!
I've re-attached the event sheet for your convenience. Questions and queries, just ask me or the organisers.

Lastly, before this creeps up on all of us. Neeeext Sunday the 6th is the event at Heronbridge College. Just a reminder to enter before the cut-off next week. Although I'll probably send a mail out on Monday to discuss how O-some the O-ringen was, and remind you then. The fun just doesn't stop!

Next up, "PenOC is proud to announce the Western Cape Orienteering Festival". What a fantastic sentence! Yay!
I can't seem to find their bulletin 1 in PDF, so I copied all the text out of their email and attached it. If you're able to attend to then please do support our fellow club in the south. Dates are 26th and 27th of May. You can also go to the PenOC website where you enter online.

That's all from me for now. I hope to see you all this weekend in Kaapsehoop. If you are travelling to the O-ringen, or elsewhere, please do travel safe.

Happy O, happy life; Otherwise you're just lost.

Yours in O
Mark Vernon for ROC
