2 new O-vents!

Hey O-stars,

Some exciting news, hot off the press, which just couldn't wait until next weeks O-mail! We have some new events to share with you, please diaries and enter!

!!Scatter Run!!

ROC has teamed up with trail running events company Wild Trail to bring you an exciting new series of events called Scatter Run. For us O-types, it's in a rogaine/score-O style, but is designed to only require simple navigation with or without a compass. Scatter run shall be a series of 3 events this year, with the first one being on the 24th of June (1 month away!) Check out the website www.scatterrun.co.za! and enter!

We're hoping to attract loads of trail runners through our partnership with Wild Trail, and grow our sport of O. Spread the word to everyone you know. Colleagues who you're not quite sure about included!

!!Botswana - 29 July!!

A note I received from Nic Mulder yesterday afternoon, how exciting!:

"

This is an early notice that Botswana will be hosting it's first ever 
orienteering event on Sunday 29 July at the University of Botswana in 
Gaborone. More details to follow, but book the date! It is a really 
superb area for orienteering, very technical. There will be a long urban 
course on offer that will be great for any orienteers travelling from SA 
for this (I am the mapper for the area and will also plan this first 
event for them).

I'd encourage you to start thinking about this and making a weekend of 
it? It's a 3.5h drive from Gauteng to Gaborone with a very efficient and 
easy border crossing.

Let's try get a ROC contingent to the Botswana event. I'll start drumming up support. I should probably also check if I can make it myself.
