It perhaps goes without saying that of all of the things necessary for flight simulation, the aircraft is arguably the most important. And there was plenty of freeware add-on aircraft available for the new simulator.
A complete pack bringing the Lockheed Harpoon PV-2 to your copy of the Microsoft Flight Simulator. Although technically a port-over, this aircraft pack has had much attention on its flight model and modifications to ensure full compatibility with the new simulator.
Developed by albie (with permission) for MSFS 2020 based on the original FSX package by Milton Shupe and the team, this pack brings the Lockheed Harpoon PV-2 to the new simulator in stunning detail. Most (if not all) of the original animations, perks, and 3D effects have been included and converted to ensure functionality and compatibility in MSFS even though this is still a port-over and not a ground-up MSFS (2020) model.
Microsoft promised that the simulator and the availability of scenery and airports would be the same... At the moment there is more for PCs than Xbox Flyaway simulations have been a great asset to the sim community for years and this article is showing some great products in freeware but sadly no mention of Xbox.
Yes; this cab controller from P.I.Engineering is suitable for Open Rails and support for it is built in to the simulator.
