READ THIS ENTIRE POST FOR HAUNT MAP UPDATE INFORMATION. IF ALL STEPS ARE NOT FOLLOWED, YOUR REQUEST WILL BE DENIED.

Rule #1: All requests are to be sent via email to both greg...@hotmail.com and one.scrap...@gmail.com. This includes pictures, additions, deletions, corrections, updates, complaints, and comments. We are old and don't want to track facebook posts/texts/messenger/snail mail/carrier pigeon. NO EXCEPTIONS! We need a single place to track requests. THERE IS NO DEADLINE FOR REQUESTS, we will be updating the map through October. We try to get to all requests within a day or two.

Rule #2: Map entries are required to have a current picture of your haunt, not a graphic of the name. Landscape pictures work better than portrait. For some reason Google Maps rotates most of them to Landscape. We usually will not take the time to rotate pictures. No iPhone/apple .heic format images.

Rule #3: Entries must include a description (don't just say the same as last year) so visitors know what to expect when they visit. You must also specify if there are any costs involved (if it is a fundraiser including where the "profits" go). Specify if it is a drive by, walk through, homemade props, live actors, whatever. PLEASE run your description through a grammar/spell checker as we will just cut and paste the description to the map. If the description is too bad or incomplete your request could be rejected.

Rule #4: Include dates and times of operation. If we get any reports of haunts that claim to be up and operational and are not on the specified dates, that haunt will be removed from the map. We will be mostly understanding of "outages" like weather.

Rule #5: Include a haunt name for tracking

Rule #6: This may sound intuitive but you need to include your address including city and state. DO NOT TELL US IT'S THE SAME AS LAST YEAR, we don't have time to chase down addresses.

My goal as the self-appointed map master is to have an accurate, informative, and current map of haunts for our group. In past years we had several entries get updated early and then for whatever reasons the haunts did not get set up so DO NOT SEND UPDATES until you are either completely set up or at least mostly set up.
All new and updated entries will include 2023 in the title so we all can tell it has been updated for this year.
***NOTICE*** All entries that have not been updated to 2023 will be deleted on or about Sept 30, 2023.

The purge of 2022 map entries will happen later today.
I'm moving it up a day because we are already having a lot of viewing activity and I figure a lot of folks will be driving around looking tonight (Friday.)

Thank you for the heads up and I agree.  I shared the map and told people to check the dates in the map so they know which ones are up to date.
