Time to Ride

Have you taken the time to calculate the difference in riding your
bike to an errand and driving your car? Let us know what you think
about going to lunch or buying a part at Lowe's.

I used to ride to SMU from Fair Oaks and Greenville (about 4 miles). I
timed both driving and riding during rush hour and riding was the
clear winner. Driving was faster outside of rush hour. In San
Francisco I can sometimes even walk faster than driving! Another thing
about CA drivers is they seem to have greater respect for cyclists. We
need to figure out how that came to be. Maybe it's because cycling is
seen as a true alternative means of transportation.
