Dear Rocks users,
I am using rocks 5.4 and when I start rock first time mysql dont create
mysql.sock at /var/lib/mysql. Is it normal? If I try to stop mysql I got
the mensage :
[root@bodesking nilton]# /etc/init.d/mysqld stop
Stopping MySQL: [FAILED]

I have to use restart option to mysql restart and create mysql.sock, as you
can see below
[root@bodesking nilton]# /etc/init.d/mysqld restart
Stopping MySQL: [FAILED]
Starting MySQL: [ OK ]
[root@bodesking nilton]# ls /var/lib/mysql/
ibdata1 ib_logfile0 ib_logfile1 mysql mysql.sock test

Any have face this situation?
thanks in advance
Nilton

This is normal, We don't configure the system version of mysql (leaving you
free to update it).
We run our own version of mysql on an alternate port. The service is
called foundation-mysql
