Our lab has a couple of display walls that are need of an upgrade and
I was considering using Rocks + Viz roll + Hiper roll in an effort to
reduce the time I spend managing and configuring. However, all of the
machines in our clusters are i686, so running the 64-bit viz and hiper
rolls are out of the question (as is replacing all of the machines).
I saw an earlier post that there was no plans for 32-bit support for
the viz roll. I could just install Rocks 5.0 (I haven't yet found a
list of what has changed between 5.0 and 5.2), but it doesn't seem
like a great idea to switch over to an infrastructure that has already
end-of-lifed for our system. Am I really out in the cold?
Any thoughts, hints, advice appreciated
Christopher

Since this is the 2nd request for 32bit Viz we will seriously consider
releasing a 32bit version of the Roll. For now you can use the 5.0
Viz Roll with Rocks 5.1 for older non-em64t Xeon (and older) hardware.
