Hi,

I want to reinstall the compute node, I do by follow these steps:

ssh compute-0-0 '/boot/kickstart/cluster-kickstart'

but the compute node could not get kickstart files.

So I run insert-ethers, it also cannot get kickstart files.

And when the compute node request IP, it reported " unsubscriptable object". And it report messages " dhcp has no free leases".

Best regards,

Victor

You need to do either:

# ssh compute-0-0 '/boot/kickstart/cluster-kickstart-pxe'

or (assuming PXE is ahead of local disk in the boot order in BIOS of the node)

# rocks set host boot compute-0-0 action=install
# ssh compute-0-0 reboot

or press the reset button on the node, and make sure it PXE boots.

The 2nd method is the most "rocks" way. First you tell the FE what to do with a PXE request from compute-0-0. If the FE has been told to let the node boot from the local disk, it will answer with no free leases. This allows for the next entry in the BIOS boot order (CDROM or HDD or whatever it is). This allows you to keep PXE at the top of the boot order. See

I use:

rocks set host boot compute action=install

rocks run host compute command="reboot"

but that will cause all the compute nodes to reinstall
