OSCAR PARTY IN THE HEART OF UNION SQUARE 6pm-8pm Sunday February 26 Includes screening / viewing of The Oscars LIVE!

To Benefit the Refugee Efforts of Oxfam

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Thunder Road Club & Bistro in Somerville’s Union Square is hosting its 1st annual Oscar viewing party for a great cause. Opened for just over a year, Thunder Road is thrilled to celebrate the film industry and the legacy of Greater Boston’s vast glory in the medium. Oscar glory, in modern history, has been honored by the Academy with favorites Good Will Hunting, Mystic River, The Departed, The Social Network and last year’s Best Picture winner Spotlight. It is time that Greater Boston threw a party to celebrate the city’s place in film history.

With a newly fully renovated space with a state of the art multi media system as well as World class chefs and bar staff, Thunder Road is the perfect place to celebrate the legendary Academy Awards and the unparalleled global work of Oxfam.

The night will feature a theatrical viewing of the main event as well as trivia, prizes and surprises to proceed.  The complementary menu will feature stationary and passed apps based on elevated (all homemade) southern pub cuisine. The libations will consist of several handcrafted Oscar themed cocktails in addition to the complementary bubbly Best Picture toast.

ABOUT OXFAM:
Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty. With 70 years of experience in more than 90 countries, Oxfam takes on the big issues that keep people poor: inequality, discrimination, and unequal access to resources including food, water, and land. They help people save lives in disasters, build stronger futures for themselves, and hold the powerful accountable.

Oxfam is fighting to protect the refugee resettlement program here in the US, while continuing to work with displaced people in 20 countries around the world providing essential supplies, clean water and sanitation to the world’s most vulnerable people.

OSCAR BRUNCH:
In addition to their Oscar viewing party, Thunder Road will be celebrating the music of movies at their acclaimed Pop Icon Brunch 10am to 3pm. Anyone attending can win free tickets to the evening party if they can answer some delicious Oscar trivia. Brunch along with them simply to find out what their take on New England’s only 100% freshly squeezed and seasoned tomato juice Bloody Mary (The Bloody Meryl) consists of.
