Nerdcore Tour returns to Boston

February 2, 2017 BOSTON, MA —  Nerdcore rappers MC Lars and Mega Ran return to Boston for at Great Scott in Allston on Wednesday, March 1st. Straight outta Berkeley, hyper-ironic MC LARS raps about hipsters, video games, social media emo, and great literature. Lars recently appeared on LeaguePodcast to talk about touring with Mega Ran, Patreon and an upcoming comic book based album.

Random, aka Mega Ran, or Random Beats. is equal parts teacher and rapper. 2015's RNDM album garnered mainstream attention to the genre, and expanded to a bigger audience thanks to collaborations with Open Mike Eagle, Kool Keith and more.

When Alex Trebek of Jeopardy made a jab at a nerdcore rap fan contestant in October 2016, MC Lars and Mega Ran joined other key artists in the genre for a collaborative song, "Suck it, Trebek". The backlash of Trebek's comments landed Mega Ran on high profile websites Entertainment Weekly, Billboard, Wired and Kotaku.

The Big O opens the show and joins MC Lars for some live songs. GeekBeatRadio will be providing a visual show and broadcast at the event.
