Service manual and part

Bonjour all,

I'm Claudio, a french guy living in Washington DC.
Yesterday I bought a non working Rock-Ola 477.
I found audio broken cables, one in cartridge left channel connector
(red) and other in tone-arm (the right channel -white)
So this things are repaired.

I need 3 things

1- Could you tel me how to charge records?
2- Where may I found parts? I need the translucent plastics over the
speakers.
3- Do you have the user/service manual? (I couldn't found it in
Internet)

Hi there!

Welcome to the list.

1) To change records you need to pull the lever that is at the front on the left, towards you (into the "scan" position). This will rotate the carousel.

2) Some parts are available from http://www.victoryglass.com/ but they don't have everything. Do you mean the piece of coloured plastic that filters the light that falls on the front of the speaker grilles? According to my parts catalogue that is part number 52808 ("door light shield"). My box doesn't have that part but I just replaced it with a bit of theatrical lighting gel (my box is now installed in a local theatre) which is fairly cheap.

3) Victory glass sell a service manual too. I have a copy if you need any specific information looking up.

Dear Jim,

Thank for your answer and your (excellent) replacement idea for my "door light shields", I'll put some gel or translucent paper.

I need to replace the 3 grill cloth (mine is faded) and one plastic support behind one grill cloth, probably I'll find it in RadioShack or Jo-ann.

Your advice are welcome.

I need to replace the cash box lock too (no key), tomorrow I'll drill it.

The records are loaded :-)

The VictoryGlass manuals are expensive, I been searching in Internet and finally I found the service manual and the amplifier (52280-A) parts and scheme, find it in attachment, just in case you need it (I hope never)

My Rock-ola is working now.

Puisque vous êtes Français et moi Belge francophone, ce sera plus simple de
nous exprimer en français

Pour charger les disques autrement dit pour faire tourner le magazine il y
le scan switch, un levier à trois positions (Operate, Off, Scan) quand vous
mettez le levier en position Scan le magazine doit tourner, et s'arrêter
lorsque le levier est mis en position Off

Concernant les pièces détachées il y a beaucoup de marchants aux States que
vous trouverez facilement sur internet

Pour les manuels il est assez facile de trouver gratuitement le service
manuel du 476-481-484, qui sont très similaires du point de vue technique,
c'est la même série. Facile aussi de trouver le parts catalog 476-484

Par contre vous ne trouverez pas les schéma complet, moi j'ai dû les acheter
sous forme papier chez "jukebox revival" aux pays bas, il s'agit de deux
documents format A0 un pour le system et un pour l'ampli, dont j'ai scanné
quelques zones
