Hi Jim and all

I moved House last year and only just got round to firing up the 477 for Christmas. Imagine my dismay when I found an issue with the lift off of the record such that the record grabber lifted approximately 1/4 of an inch before “grabbing” and hence not!

Am I right in thinking that this is a matter of adjustment to the micro switches and, if so, has anyone attempted this with any success? Things I want to find out are how to access the switches and how to adjust them, if of course my diagnosis is correct.

I have a short video showing the problem if anyone wants to see it to see what I mean or if I can upload it anywhere.

Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions.

PS is there a “gallery” feature for the 477s?

Cheers
Ken

Hi,

I saw something like this recently. The box had been kept in the cold for a while. I reckoned it was actually the grease sticking on the grabber arm gears. At the base of that arm there is two gears and one (the grab) starts turning before the other (the lift) but if the grease is sticky the lift gear gets dragged along too and it lifts too soon.
I left it to warm up a bit and everything was tickety-boo. Apparently playing a hair dryer on it can help - but I've never tried this.

I think the grab and lift motion is driven from one motor so the microswitches aren't relevant to the process.
I've actually sold my box recently so all this is from memory!

Cheers,
Jim

The micro-switches on the Profit Setter only have to do with pricing and bonus modes--if you want free play just turn them all off (left side down).
Your gripper problem sounds more typically like a lubrication issue.
hope this helps, Ed
